Your Own Way ~ 15 December 2008

Astrologers quickly point out when confronted by skeptics that no two Aries persons are alike. The same is true for Taurus and Virgo and Scorpio and most especially Aquarius. In fact, astrologers declare no persons of any sign or any two horoscopes can be identical within the time frame of something like 26,000 (exact figure unknown) years. It’s even bigger than that. If we factor horoscopes against the rotation of our galaxy in the Universe, no two horoscopes are identical within the time frame of 240 million years! All of the preceding could set up intense discussions, declarations of entrenched views, nit-picking detail arguments and unending philosophical battles the likes of which would thrill the current placements of the Sun and Mars in Sagittarius (as well as the centaurs, Crantor, Hylonome and Pholus and the Kuiper Belt bodies Ixion and Quaoar). None of that addresses the Aquarian essence setting the table for the feast of consciousness exploration to come and starting soon.

Soon - as in on January 5th - Jupiter, the master of entrenched belief systems, one’s highest ideals and thinking in larger, grandiose and insightful ways, enters the highly individualized, eccentric, opinionated sign of Aquarius. Currently - as in now - Venus, the planet who assesses inner worth and resources and subsequently derives a most personal picture of self perception and esteem, ventures ahead of Jupiter’s upcoming track in Aquarius. Given that Jupiter also addresses hype, advertising, propaganda, promos, bios and blog blurbs, the assessment index provided by Venus in Aquarius offers up solstice gifts and holiday renderings in the form of redefined or newly discovered talents and resources, which soon become part of one’s personal life promotion package.

Here’s where the Aquarian agenda becomes ultra-important. Aquarius notes that given uniqueness, personal specialization and the implementation of the maximum of one’s wildest ideas, there can never be any competition. Every idea and person stands out as unique... just like snowflakes now falling upon so many places in North America. So, don’t play the game of life as if there is competitiveness. Competitiveness brings out the worst in the Sun, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Pluto and Eris - all planets you want playing calmly and cooly on your side. When any of the above - or really any of the planets in a horoscope - commences competitive play, the crispness of perception and nature of accurate assessment fall away like snowflakes from a cloud. Comparison and contrast take over, forcing one to constantly assess whether they fit stereotypical or archetypal molds. One asks if their talents, ideas, services and products offer what the mainstream requires instead of proceeding with the internal confidence of knowing that one’s best and most far-reaching concepts rock in big ways whether currently perceived as such by the mainstream or not.

Jupiter promises that this next year those who think and innovate out of the box make significant headway. Those people’s profit margin rises as “out there” ideas come close enough to work in the now. Innovation that resolves currently complicated matters does the trick. But again, this requires thinking out of the box and while staying close enough to the box to be recognized. Jupiter further promises that those who persist in following the tried and true doctrines make little progress. In a year like the one ahead, status quo bores even the most conservative and cautious of folks.

Saturn will remain in Virgo for most of the year to come. This means that wacky, zany ideas must come forward with practical applications, energy conservation techniques, efficiency and elegant simplicity. Such ideas quickly reach the status of top shelf. Come late June of next year, the often underestimated dwarf planet Ceres aligns with Saturn. My recent observations of Ceres that when she forms aspects to outer planets in a person’s chart, this establishes intervals in which one make take on the machine, the system, city hall, and if logic, conciseness, inspiration and clear direction for the better are applied, and in which even the largest walls of resistence succumb. Of course, the ever-volatile Ceres is involved. Be concise within the framework of rules and make no promises (or threats) you have no intention or capacity to keep. Those armed with logical, uniquely personal and aspiring ideas and innovations get heard. Yes Virginia, David can defeat Goliath and there is a Santa Claus - now known as Haumea.

Haumea, now in Libra, points out the transcendent aspects of balance. Yes, equilibrium must be maintained between differing parties but not in a way that causes compromise to one or the other. There can be a fit. Since this elongated shaped planet (dwarf) holds two moons in its grasp and travels in cahoots with seven large icy companions that were once part of her body, she points out there exists enough room and a way for all to flourish and innovate agendas consistent with the modest Aquarian push slowly increasing.

Actually, it’s more than a modest Aquarian push. Neptune and the lunar nodes now travel Aquarius seeking clear directions and purposes for hare-brained ideas that the former Easter Bunny, now Makemake, in Virgo (aligning with Saturn next September and Ceres crosses his position in July - stay tuned) can delineate in ways the mainstream can grasp. Oh and by the way, the centaurs Chiron and Nessus work out the wounds of individuality and destructive desire to outdo one’s neighbor or competitor or rival. Really, it’s a good mix.

Now back to the shiny veil of Venus. What is it you bring to the table? What is your unique skill set? What ideas do you possess that no other person has tapped? How is it that your way of assembling information renders platforms of progress that also offer personal profit? It’s all there waiting to be noticed. Perhaps the brilliance offer by Venus dims a bit when compared against the shiny holiday lights and the festivity in the air. No matter. The solstice lurks around the next corner - a seasonal demarcation historically noted as a time of sitting still and restoring one’s psyche through repose. Why not follow suit? Conforming with a ceremonial demarcation point does not compromise one’s freedom of spirit; actually such compliance accentuates one’s individuality. Allow your spirit to spring forth as to not fall behind. That’s the seasoning in the air.
