Diligence Beyond Distractions ~ 29 April 2008

The distractions of life dominate the landscape. While gasoline prices rise faster than Mercury travels at perihelion, chain discount stores in the U. S. limit the availability of rice as food prices steadily climb with the persistence of a centaur wanting to be the first to plunder the wine of Pholus. The U. S. Presidential election focuses upon which candidate affiliated with what religious leader and why instead of how are we going to end the Iraq War, stabilize the economy while and overcome promises to annihilate Iran? It’s a good thing for those seeking insightful answers that a clear ear is turned to the current positions of Saturn and Pluto. The clearly visible road sign of their interaction reads, “Entering No Distraction Zone.”

The easy-going, energy-swapping trine between Saturn and Pluto continues for a short while longer. Saturn promises to resume the “natural” forward prograde motion in slightly more than three days and quickly proceeds deeper into Virgo rewarding those with diligence, persistence, dedication to dharma with insights far beyond the distracting flutter of news blips, the new wave of online pop-ups (but they’re not really pop-ups), text message ads, campaign calls, promises of great wealth awaiting you in Sierra Leone, the latest gadget’s sexy appeal and a long line of weird news stories. Yep, underneath it all there is meaning. Saturn means to tell you roll up your sleeves. Pluto insists on internal energy reclamation. Put the two together and you have all you need to ensure that you, too, reap the benefit of the Jupiter-Saturn trine come September and then again in November. Of course, Uranus and Saturn will dance later this year as well through an opposition; doesn’t that just personify your new way of doing things?

Anyway, Pluto now retreats in the vicinity of several potent x-ray eclipsing binary accreting pulsars, one of which is the fastest spinning pulsar known. The thread behind these connections reminds us to resist the temptation to go on and on about issues and conditions we claim have been cleared. Waste no energy Pluto reiterates as he encourages us to remember that life requires a specific energy output. If we assess what must be done in terms of energy required and shift away from time line driven perceptions of the demands of life, our internal energy systems rally above the weary threshold back into the determined drive just like lava from Pluto’s underworld forging upward to create new tropical islands to enjoy.

Saturn now impacts a collection of black holes in early Virgo, all of which interact in a hard line manner with a collection of black holes in the initial degrees of Sagittarius. This collection of intra-dimensional insight transceivers point out that when ideas appear, get all over them. This is the network that rides the 283-second initial awareness x-ray burst. When those messages tingle your sensors, dedicate the next five minutes of life to documenting every possible element of the incoming galactic wave. These insights slowly accumulate, forming a foundation of mental formulae that weave into intricate consciousness. These are not distractions. These are stepping stones and building blocks. Such building blocks, if properly set as the ground floor of consciousness, allow a rapid acceleration later when other transits form. For those applying these Saturn steps, no pancake flop over of a plan (company, concept, relationship) launched too swiftly or prematurely occurs.

Back in the nearer sky of the more personal astrological influences, Venus finishes the transits to three black holes in late Aries, Mars in Cancer takes one on by direct contact and both planets receive the influence of yet another in Libra. The Venus-Aries themes report: get clear on what motivates action, accept no models of mediocrity and be your own standard of personal authority. The Mars in Cancer theme could be extracted by considering the concept of “care of the cow” discussed in the I-Ching (and intending no support of the Olympics in China). Notice what you nurture, why you nurture it and how you nurture. Nurture your needs well (this also pacifies the demands of the shaman-goddess Sedna now in the midst of transit patterns). Assume impeccable standards for fundamental matters; most important, eat healthily. How else can you expect to have the energy Pluto insists you summon? Mars and Venus both tune into the message that a reality/quality check of relationship standards occur. Ensure all relationship in which you persist fosters your spirit and supports the quests of your spirit.

These black hole influences provide an underlying current that reflects the natural drift of the celestial river(s). Following the consciousness flow of these guides ensures that the persistent trend of Jupiter to Eris this year can be embraced without disruption. It’s funny how it is with the new planets Eris and Sedna. I am constantly amazed at how writing about these bodies offends so many. Regardless if people want to include them or not, they have infused in our culture. Last week while seeking distraction after watching a baseball game, I tuned into the episode of Grey’s Anatomy I felt inclined to record. Lo and behold, the show’s theme depicted Eris. The primary characters (three women characters featured - Aphrodite, Hera and Athena, no doubt) battled to win a hospital business flow disrupting surgeon’s contest. The winner would be deemed the most fair and brilliant. No one wanted to be excluded from any contest contributing event. The prize appeared as a sparkling red and silver pager that enabled the recipient to possess select/veto power regarding chosen participation in coveted surgical procedures to follow and which closely resembled the coveted Erisian apple. The theme of Eris made it into Grey’s Anatomy! Actually Eris is the entire construct of Ugly Betty (documented on my site in Don’t Snub Eris) and perfectly represents the underhanded conniving competition typical of reality TV from Survivor to Dancing With the Stars to American Idol to The Bachelor and even presidential debates. The black hole passages, especially those recent ones by Venus to the collection of celestial singularities in Aries, remind us to reset our vision of what human traits we chose to emulate and what inspires our spirit to surge forward with the resolve of a master, instead of hockey checking our perceived competition.

Meanwhile the rising food prices and the recent wave of media coverage of the matter might possibly be assigned to Mars in Cancer recently in the Jupiter-Eris pattern, parallel the out of control pump prices for petrol phenomena. Both refer to energy, one for physical body the other applies to the physical get around vehicle in life. Though the cause behind the food prices, conspiratorial or just the cost of fuel for food transport, confuses me a bit, I’m inclined to keep tracking the Saturn-Pluto trine. Build and preserve energy to maintain adherence to one’s larger agenda of life and in a distraction free manner. Personally, I’ve taken to the task of figuring out the caloric or etheric energy consumption required to write one of these columns, conduct a consultation and navigate the basic track of daily necessities. When that’s done, perhaps I can establish a clearer pricing policy for services that tracks with the global economy.

Seriously, though, I would anticipate in the next day or two with Mars quincunx Neptune that some of what’s behind all this should become a bit clearer. Is it all a distraction, a mirage of mind manipulation? People are less worried about the war and obfuscating political strategies if stressing over getting to work, feeding the body and who was last excluded from a reality show. Hopefully, by Mars’ entry into Leo on May 10th enough relief will appear to allow those distractions to subside such that we can all return to carrying our personal banners of soulful progress. Huzzah!
