Early Aries Easter ~ 19 March 2008

It’s leap year and it seems spring did an entirely Aries thing and got a head start on itself. Here it is the equinox today and a day early. With the lunation pattern this year, Easter also comes early, occurring this next weekend. What a perfect time to introduce, well in advance of the consciousness rush surely to follow, the next two likely named dwarf planets. There’s nothing more invigorating than an early start.

Mike Brown, one of co-discovering astronomer of Eris and so much more, wrote in an e-mail that 2005 FY9 will probably receive its name before 2003 EL61, because of the controversy regarding the attempted electronic pilferage of EL61's discovery online. Yes, it’s true. I’ve been speaking with the enemy - electronically at least. Actually, I love astronomers, but that’s trampling on Mike Brown’s now notorious “I Heart Astrologers Blog.” Anyway, the logical naming order to come, which parallels the process of replacing the colloquial name Xena applied to Eris, shall likely replace the nickname Easter Bunny for 2005 FY9 before Santa Claus for 2003 EL61.

Maybe discussing the Easter Bunny now just before its occurrence this year, helps reduce one of the complaints that many have illogically spewed onto the dwarf planets - without considering density and gravity and more, no comprehensive assessments can be made of a planet’s complete influence package. They’re so small and so plentiful! Just like a chock-full Easter basket actually. I used to love Easter as a child. Getting the basket with all the goodies... the chocolate rabbit (why are bunnies usually hollow?), the chocolate egg (solid, of course), the Starbuck’s Card and Barnes and Noble Gift Certificate, but of course the jelly beans. I loved the jelly beans. I used to see how many I could put into a hollow chocolate egg whenever I got one to fortify its shell from what was certainly a fate of doom that would allow my dentist’s wife to buy art. The jelly beans were so fun! You could also lay them out on Easter grass in constellation patterns! Without their kaleidoscopic color splash and flavor smorgasbord, Easter would not have been as tasty, diverse and stimulating.

We could think of the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, Ceres, Pluto, Charon, Eris and Sedna in similar ways. Why not add more color to our paint kit of consciousness tools that we slap on our palates to paint our portrait of life? Why not apply the tasty flavor and specific consciousness rendering contributions these bodies offer? According to the doom scenarios painted by those touting catastrophic implications for the ending of the Mayan Calendar, the arrival of Planet X (there’s no planet, Niburu!!) and refusal to renew the FISA Act in the United States, the time for transformation and consciousness shift is now!!

As far as the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus go, refusing the gifts they bear is like arguing with an inventor friend that until she/he names the invention and goes big with its production in the capitalistic arena, it can’t be used. And what good is a small tiny jeweler’s screw driver when you can put any screw into any object with a bigger, power screwdriver? Oh or for changing the battery in an expensive watch for instance? Belaboring haranguing and plot point set up complete, let’s consider some of the orbital impact of the new planets.

It’s more than curious that the present sign transited by Eris is Aries, the sign in which she’s most distant from the Sun (thus slowest moving and due to the retreat in distance from the Sun the chilliest) is also the sign in which Easter Bunny and Santa Claus are closest to the Sun. Eris demands we chill and regroup. She suggests we step back and take a look at the issues her closest contact Libra, social matters and status, and her nodal message, Taurus, money, stuff and attachment. She insistently asks each person what she/he thinks of all this. As she glides not far beyond her maximum chill out point, she demands reflective contemplation. Think of yourself. What do you think, feel, need, believe and how have stuff and status contributed to your life and consciousness or not? Forget social standards and the societal high bar. Eris reminds an introspective being, when being self referential form sentences consisting of and starting with first person personal pronouns.

The fervor of their themes of urgency for Easter Bunny and Santa Claus, as established by their closest contact to the Sun (perihelion), both appear in Aries. These two dwarfs urge making yourself a priority, creating ownership of life, accepting authority and agreeing to steer one’s own ship so it’s no longer adrift in collective tides. While it may be politically incorrect to be self-oriented, the solar system reminds its inhabitants to restore an agenda of self-preservation, self-affirmation, self-nurturing and soulful self-gratification. It’s true. It is interesting to recall that these notable heliocentrically described orbital points, create consciousness plot points for inhabitants on any planet in the solar system.

Easter Bunny’s purpose theme supports communication and understanding. Talk and listen. Make no assumptions. Get facts; decide what works for you. Easter Bunny supports speaking with the enemy. As former U. S. Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara pointed on in a retrospective review of his tenure, enemies or adversaries we do not understand cannot be successfully engaged, peacefully or otherwise. This reminds me of the long adversarial tone between astrologers and astronomers, which is oddly inflamed by astrologers disqualifying cosmic jelly beans dwarf planets without tasting their flavor, akin the assumptive tactics of skeptics.

Santa Claus brings two self referencing pressies. Under the Christmas Bodhi Tree (I suppose it could be a Menorah, too) you get perihelion in Aries and node in Leo. It’s as if Santa’s gifts try to remind us all, you can’t be good for anyone else if you’re not good for yourself. An individual who is not whole cannot give 100% to anyone, any job or any life circumstance. Get whole. Get full. Anyone affirming an organic self applies a fulfilling of consciousness immune from the social standards of entitlement, especially entitlement created by social standing. As Pluto and Charon will someday point out, that you may not bring with you things or your professional nameplate to the places they beckon you to follow.

While it might be argued that ego/selfishness is bad, this is not about ego or selfishness. Given that Easter Bunny and Santa are in the realm of and beyond the transformative nature of Pluto, they adopt similar healing modalities. They kick ego’s butt. They stomp it like a grape and from the grape they extract the nectar of the soul. From this nectar one may sip the essence of their own soothing spirit. Maybe that was a purple jelly bean that got stomped, regardless...

If you put it all together, Eris, Easter Bunny and Santa Claus combine their orbital renderings such that we may declare the end to consciousness of co-dependence and celebrate commencement of self sustained, self contented individuals immune to shunning and rejection. These souls show and share the bounty of their spirit freely and render all emotional, creative and soulful gifts without reservation. Sure, it’s not politically correct, nor savvy in the current social rules of engagement to put your cards on the table and hold nothing back. It’s probably not politically correct to pass over the Easter Bunny and look into the mouths of Santa’s gift horses - reindeer either.

As the equinox, let it in. Ponder what new seasons of consciousness you’d like to invoke. Affirm your presence and potency. Be part of the soul confident, spiritually rich fad to come, but well ahead of the curve, of course. The fad you help create soon becomes a new wave of consciousness bearing gifts to all who care to enjoy.
