There’s More ~ 1 September 2006

Over the past days, we’ve dealt with structure-driven Saturn opposing the ever diffusing Neptune, as Mars in detail-driven Virgo squared the transformational - though recently reclassified - Pluto. Does the recent emotional, psychic flu most people endure seem driven by this pattern? I don’t know. The summer physical flu I’ve recently battled obscured some of my correlating ability. I do know there is something more, though.

Consider that no longer can we perceive Pluto to be ultimately transformational. His efforts at taking people down into “it” - the fung of the fibre of human consciousness - stand supported by his dwarf planet companion in the Kuiper Belt, Orcus, and his riveted at the hip companion - Charon. Beyond that, we have those dwarf planets whose orbital nature extends beyond the range of Pluto. Thus, resurrection, reformation and creation result from the re-emergence implications of these bodies. These “maybe” dwarf planet bodies include Varuna, Quaoar, 55565, 55636, UB313, EL61 (2003), FY9 (2005) and Sedna. Whenever one of these bodies aligns with the “classical planets,” recently re-annotated to include Uranus and Neptune, an added effect occurs supercharging the process of expanding consciousness whether it’s collectively known or not.

In the past twenty four hours, on the heels of the planetary activity noted above, Saturn passed by 55565 via the directness of a conjunction. 55565 possesses orbital elements in Scorpio (perihelion) and Capricorn (North Node). This combination implies a gathering of elements and alchemical combining process. Suffice it to say, 55565 says, “Make something out of it. Clearly, there’s more to it than this.”

So when Saturnian obstacles appear, use them. For instance, if a person had the flu, normal mental acuity might diminish. Thus, a creative flow of writing might occur, unabated by the need for continuity, perfect structure and all. It just flows. Later it can be edited and tweaked. Right now, just use the flow, get over the hump of it and enjoy the downhill run of being swept along by creative tides. In anything, look deeper. Somewhere, there’s a pivot in perception, followed by a shift in consciousness and then a fabulously creative alternative results. There’s no throwing the baby out with the bath water here, either. Something old likely resurrects. Save whatever works from old archetypes. Apply the themes fully, adding the benefits of the latest insight and inspiration. From there things make progress.

It’s just like the solar system. Astrologers do not need to fret over the change in status of Pluto. Instead, we have more tools of transformation to apply. Though subtle, all these “dwarf” influences heap up and become part of a fabulous evolutionary track.

There’s something else in the “more” category. Recently backward moving sunspots have been sighted. This means we have successfully achieved solar minimum and now head back toward solar maximum, due in a bit more than five years. Forecasts indicate that this next maximum looks to be rather potent. Solar prominences shower the Earth with energy and a sense of psychic hyper-activity when they arrive. I’ll keep you advised of the big bursts and you can always check yourself by going to www.spaceweather.com. Before those who love to go off on End of the World tangents take this and run, there has been nothing out of synch with the expected pattern of solar activity. Yes, in 2000 the solar cycle gave us a double hump and a ton of energetic bursts. But then, unlike the conspiracy e-mails claimed, it followed expected tracking. Bottom line, there is no conspiracy attempting to hide contrived assumptions that the Sun is unstable, off course and whatever. You know, in this country there’s a distinct aftertaste of the most distasteful McCarthy era (where everyone not following the government’s plan was a communist). In that interval, a slew of movies came out that delineated the fear in the collective consciousness... “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” “Invaders from Mars,” and later, “On the Beach.” It seems when fear becomes so huge that people cannot cope with it, they transfer the fear to larger, completely unmanageable forces - in this instance solar activity. Any solar flare conspiracy (or Planet X, or the photon belt) e-mails I receive will be ignored. Despite the resentment toward the scientific community by many astrologers now, I contend if we as astrologers and spiritual types actually strive to understand the science behind it all, we’ll be better off for it. I hope you all prove me right.

There is something else. It’s subtle and requires a deeper look. Our solar system yearns to let us know how vast it is so we can benefit from all that it is. If it were a flower, it would be named Ignore-Me-Not.
