Every O'Dog Has It's Day ~ 01 May 2007

While the baseball world watched in awe as A-Rod went after all offensive records for April (and he only tied the home run record), other unsung heros started the 2007 season brilliantly. It's said that every dog has its day. April proved that every O'Dog has its month... or this year, a whole slew of months.

The second baseman of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Orlando Hudson, a.k.a. O’Dog, seems the perfect Sagittarian. He’s optimistic, gregarious, affable and when it comes to play on the field, he glides over an incomprehensible defensive range on the field with deceptive effortlessness. With a Neptune to Sun conjunction, O-Dog is like greased lightning and smooth as glass. Using his naturally soft hands and a powerful arm to boot, Hudson easily took the Golden Glove Award in the National League for second basemen in 2006. Wow! An award like that might be given during a Jupiter transit - wouldn’t you think?

Precisely. Hudson received his award last weekend as Jupiter split the four-degree gap between his Sun and Neptune. More in line with Jupiter’s wild enthusiasm and knack for success, his team played twenty-seven games in April. In every single one of those games, Hudson got on base safely - while not record setting, a fantastic month nonetheless.

Neptune adds the instinctive element to an athlete. It offers perfect positioning when fielding, instinctive timing when batting. A switch hitter, Hudson batted a healthy .352 in April, but wait, there’s more. He had 37 hits, of which two were home runs, one fell for a triple and nine entered the books as doubles. He walked 14 times, accumulating a total base count of 54.

Can this continue? Most likely. Jupiter continues from the midpoint of the Sun and Neptune back to his align with Venus in August (retrograde) and September (direct). Also in this mix the baseball gods note that Venus trines Mars in Leo and while Jupiter activates a transiting trine, it also sextiles his nodal axis. The bottom line, Hudson, on the heels of a good year last year, appears to be headed for a great year - maybe a career year, courtesy of Jupiter and despite a Saturn return.

Should the Arizona Diamondbacks make the playoffs, expect Hudson to continue his role as leader, as Jupiter exactly aligns with Neptune once again in October.

Follow up: O'Dog's streak ended on May 7 at reaching base safely in 33 consecutive games.

His machine gun style of dialogue inspires his teammates, keeps them on their toes and lightens the mood on the field, in the dugout and clubhouse. This trait comes from Hudson’s Mercury in Capricorn, opposite natal Jupiter. This pattern offers his nonstop chatter, precision timing and crispness in that chatter and an ability to humourous state the obvious. Known for endless talking and rapid fire conversation, Hudson’ Mercury aligns with the fast known spinning pulsar in space. Funny thing about pulsars, no matter where in space a pulsar is seen, it always emanates a constant, enduring signal.
